On February 21st, WFWP UK organized a virtual meeting on Zoom focused on capacity building through funding grants. The meeting, attended by 12 members, was led by experienced leaders Francoise Murphy and Joanna De Souza in the field of funding applications.
Key outcomes from the meeting included Francoise taking the lead in the funding application process, with plans in motion to seek additional grants to support ongoing projects, particularly in the local area of Watford. The group aims to secure grants that benefit the community, with a focus on projects involving refugee women and vocational skills training for women.
Joanna has been actively submitting grant applications for projects such as the young women’s speech contest and Artist for Peace, along with pursuing a grant from the International Women's Federation. The meeting discussions provided valuable insights into the projects, with Francoise set to distribute the PowerPoint presentation to the group for further feedback and reference.
