On the 10th of July, we held our annual Young Women's Speech Contest.
The topic was "Courage in Action: Stories of Feminine Leadership and It's Relevance Now".
After encouraging words from 2 young women who took part in previous years, we heard from the 5 wonderful participants representing the UK, Congo, Nepal, Egypt and Bosnia.
Around 75 of us were there to support the young women. We were all so moved by their sincerity and courage, and their aspirations to make a better world.
While our 4 experienced judges deliberated, we were treated to a very inspiring cultural programme of songs, poetry and sharing...
When the judges returned, they gave a very good assessment of each speaker's presentation and the awards and certificates were given...
There was such a joyful atmosphere in the room! Among old and young alike, we felt genuine hope in our hearts, thinking about the future, and through listening to the voices of young people...
Thank you to everyone for making the evening a great success.
