On Saturday, 1st November 2025, WFWP Central London hosted a Meet and Greet gathering at 43 Lancaster Gate from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event took place in the café area, where participants sat together around a large table, creating a warm, intimate, and family-like atmosphere.
The purpose of the event was to welcome new guests, strengthen connections among current members, and share more about the vision and mission of the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP). It also provided an opportunity to discuss volunteering and community involvement in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Laureta, Helena, and Anne warmly greeted guests as they arrived, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and included. Around fifteen participants attended, including five new guests who had met the team at the Volunteers Fair.
Once everyone was seated, Helena, serving as MC, opened the main program. Each participant briefly introduced themselves and shared about their background and connection to volunteering. Afterwards, an introduction video about WFWP was played, giving everyone an overview of the organisation’s global peacebuilding work and the values it promotes — reconciliation, compassion, service, and women’s leadership.
Following the video, Mitty Tohma shared inspiring words about WFWP’s vision and her own experience of working with women from different cultures to promote peace and understanding. Her message encouraged everyone to see the potential of women’s roles in creating a more caring and united world.
Maria then spoke about her experience participating in the Women’s Speech Contest and how WFWP helped her develop confidence and communication skills. Her story touched many of the guests and highlighted the Federation’s supportive and empowering community.
The meeting continued with open sharing and conversation, where participants reflected on what inspired them to volunteer and how they could contribute to future activities. The friendly café setting, along with tea, coffee, and snacks, made the whole afternoon feel relaxed and engaging.
The event concluded with informal chats over tea and coffee, allowing guests to build new connections and discuss ideas for future collaboration.
Overall, the Meet and Greet was a great success — a warm, inspiring afternoon that deepened friendships, welcomed new members, and strengthened the shared commitment to peace, service, and understanding.
