On December 7th, families gathered at Lancaster Gate for a heart warming Christmas edition of Peace Explorers, an innovative educational program designed for children aged 6 to 11. Hosted by the Women's Federation for World Peace UK, the session welcomed participants of all ages to explore peace through creativity, movement and reflection.
Themed “Cultivating Peace Together: Strengthening Family, School & Community Bonds,” the event offered a rich tapestry of activities—from mindful discussions and active meditation to yoga, music and festive crafts. Children and adults alike joined in making Christmas crackers filled with sweets, puzzles and heartfelt notes celebrating each family member’s unique contribution to their home’s harmony.
Highlights included:
A craft-led discussion with Oksana, encouraging children to reflect on kindness and connection.
Merope’s active crystal meditation, guiding participants into calm and clarity.
Ena’s yoga session set to Christmas songs, blending movement with joy.
Live guitar music from Katie, followed by group singing and dancing with lyrics on screen.
Peace Explorers is more than a children’s program—it’s a family experience rooted in the belief that peace begins at home. By nurturing empathy, cooperation and self-worth, the initiative helps children become confident peace builders in their schools and communities.
As one parent shared, “It was very welcoming and engaging.”
A child added, “I enjoyed it because we got to make Christmas crackers.”
The sessions are donation-based, with sponsorships warmly welcomed.
