“How the belief in angels can help bring people of different faiths together”

WFWP Ireland invited Lorna Byrne to create a joined event to promote interreligious dialogue. The event was held on 1st December 2011 in Dublin, Ireland. There were 80 people in attendance, the majority of which were new guests.

Lorna is the author of 2 bestselling books “Angels in my Hair” and “Stairways to Heaven”. She is spiritually open and has been seeing and talking to angels and sometimes spirits since she was a baby. Through her books she is talking openly about what she has seen and learned from the angels and to spread a message of hope and God’s love, regardless of belief or religion. By now, she is hugely successful, with her books having been translated into 20 languages, and she helped countless people to find hope and healing in their lives. She has appeared on national and international TV and has been touring the world with her message.
Because of her experience with God and the angels who have revealed an incredible amount of wisdom to her, she takes strong interest in the area of interfaith work.

We have teamed up with her to create this event under the motto “How the belief in angels can help bring people of different faiths together”.

We had 11 different beliefs and religions represented, so the audience was an amazing mix of races, cultures and religions. We held a Unification Ceremony at the beginning, as a symbol that we are all children of the same God. Each representative of the different religions lit a candle from a source candle representing God. We had to get more small candles because there were so many religions present!

Lorna reported later that something extraordinary had happened particularly during the candle lighting ceremony: The guardian angel of every single person in the room opened up to be clearly visible to her, just as the candles were being lit. Normally she sees the Guardian angels only fully for particular reasons, and usually sees most of them just as a light behind the person they are guarding.
She said what happened that night never happened before at any speaking event she has ever done before, and she was incredibly astonished. She said the angels did this in order to signify how important this event was.

After the ceremony, Doris McCann, President of WFWP Ireland, interviewed Lorna, centering on the motto of the evening.
It is interesting that Lorna doesn’t even notice all the differences in us unless she makes a special effort to. From her viewpoint, looking at people with her with spiritual eyes, we are all simply children of God - the rest are just details.
So, she emphasized how important it is that we all learn to accept and love each other centering on God, and to reach out to each other, regardless of our culture or belief.

One thing she emphasized several times was the importance of prayer, especially when people of different religions come together and pray.

One of the visions of the future world that have been revealed to her is a world where all religions come together under one umbrella centered on God. It will also be a world where our spirits and bodies will be much more intertwined and all people will be spiritually open.
This, however, will not come about automatically and is not absolute – it will take our participation and us playing our part by connecting to God and reaching out to each other and break down the barriers, based on love and compassion.
Lorna pointed out that events like these – where so many different people come together, become friends and pray together – are just what is needed to make this vision a reality!

After the interview the audience had the opportunity for questions and answers with Lorna, and there was such a warm feeling in the room - many hearts were obviously moved!

We finished the evening with a moment of silence followed by Lorna’s prayer and afterwards Lorna met briefly and blessed everybody who wished to. It was beautiful to see how Blessings and Prayers were exchanged beyond boundaries!
